THE LITTLE ONES

Boy Nov 28

For those that didn't read One Marines View back in 2004, I did a few deployments to Iraq & Afghanistan to sexy really nice places like Ramadi and Helmand Province. Not so fun places but hey, we are Marines and we go to the worst places. I began this blog back then. Limited to what I could "post" due to operational security but you can read some of my post while I was deployed to get the idea.

Every now and then as I enjoy a tasty C-Gar, a memory jumps into my head and I laugh and sometimes don't laugh as I remember it like yesterday. The smells, the heat the camaraderie. Below is one such post. We take America for granted. We take clean water, heat and safe neighborhoods for granted. Many here in the States don't realize how good we have it.

Just like in the below post, there were time Marines were injured to my left and right, how I'm here, still amazes me and I'm grateful for every day. Make the best of your situation, treat every day like its on purpose and a gift. Who knows, it may be the best day of your life. (thx wheezy)

THE LITTLE ONES
Its 1000 am and nice out for a winter day. I watch the cigar smoke rise as I sit under the camie netting and see the sun poking through. It’s quiet, peaceful and scary how quickly it can turn ugly. That thought is gone now and we are flying out the gate on yet another convoy. Chest tight and ready for anything. “Where are you, you little SOBs, I know your out here.” I think to myself.

A10S IN SUPPORT

2017-01-27 09.24.55

A10S, YA, THEY ARE BAD ASS, and the distinct sound they make (especially when low) gives you the same feeling of a screaching Bald Eagle.....Merica!

Although, they have a problem distinguishing between bad guys and Maries because they released holy he'll on the ground, anytime you have them in support, its a good day.

One shitty day in Helmand Province I crawled out out of a tent at O dark thirty only to see a small dot on the horizon. Within Seconds Mr A10 flashed by at a low altitude making sure the entire area knew they were on station. We didn't have any bad guy issues that day.

Sen Schumer Lectures Sen Tom Cotton For Not Being in Senate 8 Years Ago. Cotton Reminded Him Where He Was

"New York Deomcratic Senator Chuck Schumer rarely shies away from confrontation. He’s no stranger to the spotlight, and specializes in offering up media friendly soundbites. Now, as the Senate Minority Leader, he’s got an even stronger platform. Yet he may want to pick his battles wisely, as he learned when he went up against Arkansas Republican Tom Cotton." "The 114th Congress will be made up of 70 current members and 11 incoming members of the U.S. House of Representatives who have served or are serving in the U.S. military. Three of the incoming members are Democrats; the other seven are Republicans. A number of veterans who are currently serving in the House decided to retire this year, and a small number lost re-election."

Mad Dog starts work Sat morning! New Sheriff in town!

Riiiiiight aaaaaaaabout now, the military officials in the Pentagon are realizing there is a momentum shift and also a new sheriff in town. Gen Mattis aka The Secretary of "Offense" arrived early Saturday morning at the Pentagon to begin work. I can't imagine the cheetah flips all the branches were doing last night and this morning and will continue on through Sunday. Mad Dog didn't get that name for sitting back. Read a story here to paint a small glimpse. or here if you are a slow learner.

Watch the video, you can hear a "reporter" ask "Chaos" (that was his radio call sign in combat) what's on the schedule for the day. Mad Dog simultaneously steals the reporters soul, sells it on Ebay for a buck and continues on leaving the reporters limp body to try to figure out to obtain its next breathe.

Imagine the company you work for, has the new CEO arrive bright and early and you are to attend. Now make that CEO a warrior combined with the DNA of Chuck Norris (although Chuck is scared of Mad Dog), the coolness of Elvis and the brainpower of the atom splitters. Try to have a nice day.....Time for a C-Gar

That time when a Marine mechanic took a jet for a joy ride.

I can tell you, when you think you have seen it all, your young Marines continue to out do themselves, in combat and garison. Seriously, they know how to do some funny stuff and also how to bring a new level of face palm to the equation too often as well. Regardless, ya got to love em. Time for a C-Gar

How much could a Marine Corps fighter cost? That was probably one of the questions running through 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Howard Foote’s mind as the enlisted flight mechanic climbed into an unarmed A4M Skyhawk in the middle of a July night. Read more here
