You read it here and here about Sgt 1st Class Charles Martland. Now in a stunning reversal, the US Army has decided to retain the warrior. Time for a C-Gar

In a stunning reversal, the U.S. Army decided late Thursday to retain a decorated Green Beret it had planned to kick out after he physically confronted a local Afghan commander accused of raping a boy over the course of many days.

Sgt 1st Class Charles Martland, confirmed the Army's decision to retain him when reached by Fox News, who has been covering the story in depth for the past eight months and first broke the story of the Army's decision in August to kick out Martland over the incident, which occurred in northern Afghanistan in 2011. Marine: New U.S. Commander in Afghanistan Threw Us Under the Bus

A Marine wrongfully accused of killing civilians says that President Obama’s new Afghanistan war commander is unqualified to lead coalition forces.

In January President Obama tapped Army Lt. Gen. John Nicholson to lead the war in Afghanistan, as the administration confronted the possibility of a long-term troop presence in the country. Nicholson, an Army Ranger, sailed through Senate confirmation on Feb. 4.

The hasty confirmation disappointed retired Marine Major Fred Galvin.

“It is never good for a foot soldier when this guy is in charge,” Galvin told the Washington Free Beacon in a telephone interview from his Kansas home. “I don’t consider him a military leader. He’s a politician.” Read full story here

2,300 California-based Marines just deployed to the Middle East

Just when you thought the war in Iraq was "over", your Marines are headed back! Its called "Operation Conquest" (16.2) where the Iraqi War was 16.1. Nothing has changed, we just took a few years off to let them rebuild.....Time for a C-Gar

“Put simply, our 16.2 rotation of Marines and sailors will be carrying out the same mission as 16.1, providing a broad range of capabilities to the [head of U.S. Central Command],”

A new Marine rotational force has landed in the Middle East as the U.S. ramps up the fight against Islamic State group militants.

The final contingent of Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force—Crisis Response—Central Command 16.2 departed Camp Pendleton, California, last week en route to the region to begin a nine-month deployment to directly and indirectly bolster Iraqi forces in their fight against ISIS.

Members of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines will be the ground combat element of the task force, with air support from squadrons of the 2nd and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wings. They’ll be led by the 5th Marine Regiment with Combat Logistics Battalion 5 lending logistical support. Read full story here

Make a servicemember feel like an astronaut

Ever wonder what it is like to write a deployed service member while they are away from their family fighting a war? Well, I can tell you there is a very unique feeling that all of the sucky things you have to do while deployed are for “something” when you get a letter /care pkg from a supporter. Like that feeling in the video of the astronaut, trust me he felt a special message that helped motivate him. By your simple note/letter/care package, you can make a difference. Don’t know where or how to write a deployed warrior? Easy, just go to www.anysoldier.com and pick a deployed warrior and……write them. Trust me, there is nothing like getting aa letter while deployed. Make them feel like this astronaut! Time for a C-Gar

Smokescreen on the Potomac: Pentagon and Congress deliberately ignoring $36 million USMC study that shows women cannot survive in the combat arms

Let’s watch how the Marine Corps and other branches deal with women in combat roles. Apparently, many people have spent allot of good tax payer money to have it determined if women would function in combat roles or not efficiently. The ruling is that it is highly discouraged. But read for your selves. Time for a C-Gar

The United States of America is in mortal jeopardy and most Americans, tucked away in their beds tonight don’t even understand why or who is responsible for their peril.

Those responsible are not from North Korea, China, Iran, Russia or ISIS. They are Department of Defense bureaucrats, members of Congress and senior leaders in the US military.

The US military is committing suicide. We are in the first stages of beginning a process that is going to decimate the speed, lethality and combat power of the Marines and the US Army combat arms and special operations. The US military is doing this because of policies directed by the White House and authorized by willing lackeys in the Pentagon and in Congress.

A Congress short on military veterans and long on wind and incompetence said nothing as the April 1, 2016, deadline passed for them to review Secretary of Defense Ash Carter’s authorization which allows women to serve in direct ground combat units. Read full story here

U.S. to send more troops to Iraq to tackle Islamic State

The United States will send more troops to Iraq and will put them closer to the front lines of battle there to advise Iraqi forces in the war against Islamic State militants.

U.S. defense officials said on Monday that Washington will deploy about 200 additional troops, mostly as advisers for Iraqi troops as they advance towards Mosul, the largest Iraqi city still under Islamic State control.

"As we see the Iraqis willing to fight and gaining ground, let's make sure that we are providing them more support," U.S. President Barack Obama said in an interview with CBS News. Read full story here

Dont like Wounded Warrior Program? Get a flag - One person can make a difference

You may have read here about the Wounded Warrior Program. I can tell you the positive stories are much fewer than the negative stories.

Thus, I recommend if you would like a good charity to support that actually helps deployed warriors is to consider donating to www.anysoldier.com

You can go HERE to donate. I have had the luxury of having anysoldier support me through all 5 combat deployments. It works! There is nothing better to be in some god for saken country and receive a care package. It’s hard to put into words. However, when you get something in the mail, your entire perspective changes.

Hey, I got it, times are tough, I know. However I challenge every reader of One Marines View to donate $10. If that happened, the charity would have close to 10,000 just from a week’s viewers. Crazy, right? My goal is to raise $5,000. Can you help me reach that goal? (A typical "value meal at McDonald's is $7. A typical cup of coffee at Starbucks is $4.75. So go without that nasty burger, that crazy coffee and help out this charity. Kinda puts it in perspective does it not?

All I ask is “if” you can donate, please do. I wouldn’t promote it if I didn’t have faith in it and I do, because they supported my Marines and I. They make a difference.

Go here to donate!

To make things interesting, I make these American flags. I will randomly pick a donator which will receive one of these flags (per $1k donated) that I am donating to the cause (I believe in it) and I will ship it to you free of charge and I will even pick up the shipping!

Even if you don't donate, help me spread the word. What's that take? Like 2 seconds to share this posting....please help me get the word out.

I really appreciate your help! – Time for a C-Gar
