(Hat Tip to "SK")
There
recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named
Irena. During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in
the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She
had
an 'ulterior motive' ... She KNEW what the Nazi's
plans were for the Jews, (being German.)
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids..) She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.Recently, Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ... She was not selected.
However, Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming and Barack Obama won for a speech on peace.

Irena Sendler may have been denied the Nobel Peace Price but the smile on her face and twinkle in her eye still in her later years reveals an inner peace that passes understanding. There are people that walk this earth with such courage it is almost impossible to find words to describe the profound impact they have on us when we come in contact with them or hear their life story. Irena is one of those people. Thank you for passing her story along to your readers Major.

This is what true hero's are made of.It is a shame we teach our children to emulate others who are so shallow, IE movie stars, sports stars, giving awards to those who are not worthy. Her heart and faith saved so many.Thank you for paying tribute to her by printing her story.

Jesus shines vividly in her countenance...her eyes, her smile will forever out shine their works; obviously accomplish more than they together, ever will.

She is a saint, and deserves to be remembered throughout history. It boggles the mind to think that she was passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize while twerps like Gore and Obama got it. They cheapen the Nobel; Irena put her very life where her mouth was and paid a terrible price. She is worthy of great honor by all wh love justice.

The Nobel prize farce has become a leftist glee club for the elites to award themselves "honours". It is more of an honor and indicates a good moral standing NOT to be picked for one.
We all could learn courage from this woman. Bless you Grandmother.

Incredible person and I'm glad to read her story. Shows you the power of what just one person can do. Particularly at a time of moral collapse like World War II & the Holocaust.

You need to put on wet roads, but no boots or snow, which can damage the top surface of boots.
