"I have enormous respect and admiration for President Obama and his national security team, and for the civilian leaders"
No, he doesn't...otherwise none of this would have happened.

Great article, best one that makes sense.

God bless General McChrystal for having the courage to actually say what most in the military think. Sad to say, I doubt the chimp-in-chief "gets it".

What a crock. Fox propaganda at its worst.

Baloney! this guy stopped having anyone's back about the the time he made Ltcol. You don,t become a four star caring about anyone but yourself. It's the old power-trip thing. He got too big for his britches, I for one am glad to see him get slapped down.

Just maybe the General was following the Commander in Chief who trashes America while on Foreign Soil.

Well let's just all pile on. As for me and my house we'll wait for the General to defend his position. This county owes him that and more. I refuse to believe this man was afraid to stand up and tell it like it is to his CIC and chose to let some little pip squeak of a RS reporter carry his water for him. If the General is at fault in this particular matter it is probably one of the heart. He trusted those he loves and would die for with confidences weighing on his mind. Of course none of us would ever make that human mistake. Now would we?

From the day I heard of this interview I said "thank you" at least someone is letting America know Obama doesn't have a clue!! Having 2 Marine sons I want this war over, but I want it won and ALL of our military home safe and sound.

Is there anybody who doesn't realize that Afghanistan is a classic 'failed state'? It is made up of numerous tribes who don't get along with each other. In my opinion, in order to make any geographical region into a nation, you have to be able to get the players to agree on a mutual mission. These tribes won't do that. Unfortunately, Afghanistan has elements, such as the opium merchants, who command
power through money. How much of the opium booty has financed Al Qaeda weapons, roadside bombs and 9-11? We are in a rock-and-hard-place position with Afghanistan: We gotta do something. But, what will make us safest? That's the rub.
General McChrystal was handed a huge can of worms. After all the cutesy banter I've read about his comments, it might be time to realize that he wasn't given a clear-cut mission.

What our troops do for us is awesome…
In appreciation for all that our troops and their families do 4 R Freedom, I have written a song to express my appreciation and gratitude.
Please give it a listen at http://www.4RFreedom.US
There is also a page for our troops and their families to express the many hardships they endure while loved ones are so bravely serving this great nation.

Leadership Styles

the General criticized Obama in a major way and even picked the perfect vehicle to do it in the most visible of ways.
