Nice argument, unfortunately it would probably not be adopted.

Probably get shot down because of racism or unfair-ness of because it would hurt someones feelings.

:( Oh well.

That is a very clear argument. Send it to Congress as the first proper step to providing Healthcare - don't tie it to pay - it is only Healthcare, and smile when you say it.

Everyone should be randomly tested or nobody. Fair is fair. How about random testing at the grocery store?

Agreed entirely.

One thing I'd personally like to see is reduced penalties for marijuana users, but the problem with insisting on any drug war reform is that the libertarian crowd immediately uses you and insists that you're for all taboos against all drugs to be thrown aside.

The inability for us to proclaim judgment on clearly unproductive and self-mutilating members of society is a serious problem, and that inability stems from liberals who don't want us to judge, libertarians that think because they feel responsible they must be responsible, and a corporate/bureaucratic capitalism more interested in the bottom line - taking your money away - than getting involved in moral issues.

What you're asking for is morality to be tied to wealth creation. It's shocking, I know, asking people to be reasonable.

I have doubts about sending it in to Congress and expecting anything.

I think half of the congressmen and senators are also dopers.

Fort McMurray is in Alberta Canada.I agree with the comment. But maybe the argument might be more convincing if it was in the USA.
