Soldiers from Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, Task Force Currahee, load up in a helicopter to head back to base after completing an operation near Spera in south-west Khowst province, Afghanistan, Nov. 21. During the operation they searched for weapons as well as search for key Taliban leaders within the area.

Bet the Marines will turn things around in Afghanistan just like they did in Iraq.

I heard on the radio this morning that the Marines are still waaaaaay ahead on their recruiting goals despite everything the libs can do to discourage young folks. I have absolutely no idea why this made the network news, but what the heck -- it's great!

This D Co. op is the same kind of op the Army conducted ad naseum in Vietnam. Swoop in, search for weapons caches, feed the civilians, slap on a few band-aids, grab a couple of VC suspects and swoop out.
Meanwhile the Viet Cong continued their stranglehold on the people and control of the countryside because they were ALWAYS there.
