Great job Major. anysoldier.com is the way to go for those who want to help and may not know a soldier. I just got an email from a soldier in Iraq who I sent care packages to. He was so humble and thankful. This was my first package to this trooper. Now he has some specific needs and wants. I have been through this before. Troops are afraid to ask for things because they do not want to burden us. Crock. They do not want to send request for things and never get anything. There is nothing worse for a trooper than mail call and having nothing. No letter, email, or package. This is wrong. OMV supporters have ways now to help. As the Major said this is only a start. We can make a contribution to our troops through care packages and mail, but the biggest contribution we can make is to get Major Pain on the news to give his message to suport or troops. The best way to help the Major is with emails to sites he has found and contributions to our troops. Pony up folks. The need is more than ever.

I've got soldiers from Anysoldier.com and Soldiers Angels that I support.

I especially love to send to those that get little or no mail and I've heard back from these men on what a difference it makes.

I sent to soldiers whose names I got from a friend, who got them from a friend that was in Iraq. . He gave my friend the names of men that rarely got mail. He said that as soon as our packages/letters started arriving, the morale of his men went up. It was an obvious change.

So, if you are not doing anything, jump in! It's an awesome thing.

Ummm, maybe it's just me and my browser, but everything is over too far to the left and "behind" the orange background section. I can't read most of the post.

Yes, AnySoldier.com, best place to learn one's prayers have been heard. Mach III blades, wetwipes, a bit of jerky, socks. It doesn't take a lot. Reading about IED impact and dislodged caps, the beacon of my so-close corner drug store (for a temporary dental fix) was like a slab of gold. A couple-a-extra tuna-in-foil on my grocery list isn't a big deal, but to one dirt camping in harms' way 'tis a fine wink and a nod, aye. So many good acknowledgements back and forth. I've learned to bless 'em Major (yes, you taught me) and bless the box, feed 'em with letters (when the larder is lean) and find I am the one grown stronger. Let them build your faith, your daily confidence, your apprecation of our freedom. And remember them coming out, and when they say, "write my buddy", and when they say, "don't forget us, we're going right back out."

Major,
I had a request for care packages to a gal in the Army. I used anysoldier.com. I am used to sending to infantry guys. I can see me in the checkout at Walmart with things for a gal. I ain't bashful, but I think anysoldier has great ideas for guys and gals. Nuff said.
