Getting some at Walter Reed!
Friday night at Walter Reed was great! I got there and with never have been there before I pulled up in front of a small group of people with a couple American flags. As I walked up in the middle of them I quickly noticed the much larger group across the street in front of the Walter Reed gates. I was in the wrong place! I asked them “What’s wrong with war?” after reading their War is bad sign. They immediately didn’t like me. I gave them a few thought of how I felt about them and then as they turned their backs on me I know I was dealing with frauds.
I went across the street to run into SMASH and shortly after that Black 5, Taco’s Mama GunnNutt and all of the other regulars. SMASH was on a mission to give the freaks a message and how he felt from when the losers dissed a couple troops the previous week. Things went well as I noticed a couple of the pinko losers talking that perhaps they were a bit harsh with the soldiers last week, as SMASH made them feel like dirt bags. Hello, I thought the “pinkos” supported the troop……..not.
After the warriors arrived on the returning bus we made our way to see them as SMASH & Black 5 gave them some books and the “regulars” showered them with gifts. What a country. It’s something to remember these young warriors are doing the countries battles. Missing limbs, scared, all were in good spirits and really glad that people came out to see them.
All of you that are regulars or that have been to a Friday night at Walter Reed, Thank you! You are making a difference!!!!
Its important people, you got to take a few hours out of your life and go talk to these heroes. If not at Walter Reed, then any of the Veteran hospitals in your area will have a couple hard asses around. It was truly my honor to spend Friday night with them and just listen and help where we could. There is something about watching 50-100 heroes on a bus wave to you as they see you supporting them on a street corner. Get out there and make a difference people!
Keep attacking, they are.
(time for a cigar)

Very inspiring post, MP. We can never thank these heros enough for the sacrifices they have made.

Idea: how about an anysoldier style program for our wounded heros?
Posted by: | September 16, 2006 at 09:39 PM
It was nice of you to wear the warning shirt, but the Pinkos were intimidated as hell when you just looked at them! You and SMASH did a lot of good for your fellow warriors Friday night.
Thank You Major Pain!

Thanks Major Pain for doing what more of us need to do more often... To those of you living near a Veterans Hospital.. please give yourselves a gift, stop in and say "Thanks" to a Vet. Just might be the nicest one you ever receive...

There is a Volunteer Services office in the VA hospital near my home. I found out about a need on one of the wards and have been active in attending to that need.
The Volunteer Services Dept provided me with a "wish list" of needs and projects. One such item is called a Comfort Kit....for Vets who need hygiene produts. They are given a kit containing personal care items. One can either donate the items or donate money toward providing the kits. That is only one need on the list.
Also, on Soldiers' Angels there are opportunities to help our wounded warriors.

I'm just guessing but I think that a program for hidden heroes is in the planning stages at any soldier. Does anyone know what that's about and when it will start?

My thanks go to everyone who has ever gone on Friday nights to support our guys. Most especially "the regulars", an amazing collection of people who stand up for those behind the gates EVERY week. (Yes that means you GN) Many of those guys at WR can't come out and join in, as they're trying to heal from battles they already fought. Bless all of you who are willing to go fight this one on their behalf.

Along with standing on all four corners surrounding the main gate at WR EVERY Friday night to show support of our military and their families MANY, if not all, of the Freepers also go to the Mologne House either before or after (sometimes both) the gate "festivities" in order to visit the wounded and their families. They seek out those who are in need of ANYTHING and do their best to grant their requests. Most of all they just visit with them to show them PERSONALLY how much they are loved, cared about and appreciated. They do so much more than stand in all forms of weather to hold signs and wave.
My thanks to all of them for their devotion and dedication.

Good job people!
Major Pain looks like your shirt "glows in the dark". I am sure it is etched into some minds too as well.

God bless you and your fellow patriots that are willing to stand up to these disgraceful, treasonist, 60s retreads.
These people are a cancer on our country and need to be exposed and confronted at every opportunity.
Well done!

Major;
Bravo Zulu sir, another raid by the "Kay's Cafe Corps" - intimidation mission accomplished! My wife says that the shirt indicates that you breakfast at the home of hot studs in Highland. BTW, my daughter (2LT Kat) has the same shirt - must be something about officers (even if she is Army).

First, CONGRATS on your promotion.
Second, THANK YOU for coming out to WRAMC and standing with the FReepers and PW's.
I'll be there this Friday.
I've been busy for the last two months, making sure the tun lane and entrance to the our new Heritage Center in Quantico is built properly.

Like the shirt. Hmmmm..... how about a shirt something to the effect of "Does not play well with terrorists". Or "Does not PLAY with terrorists" (play being emphasized).

Hidden Hero started last Oct when 2 military wives (me and my good friend Mary) went to visit the brave troops at Bethesda Naval Hospital. We brought smiles, encouragement and of course lots of stuff! We were welcomed like VIP's. There were 23 brave warriors on the ward and we saw most of them. I was in awe of their bravery and attitudes. Most had smiles on their faces even though they were missing limbs and in great pain. Shortly after my visit I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I am just about done with treatment and will be back in full force to show these brave guys and gals how much we care. If anyone is interested in helping with Hidden Hero feel free to email me at Sue@treatanysoldier.com
