If you notice on One Marine’s View, there are no advertisements in the side bar and the site is soley funded by myself. I want to keep the site clean,without clutter or distractions.  I rarely do posts promoting events as well although the site generates on average well over 1K viewers a day and 1K+ page views a day you can see why I get a ton of emails soliciting to advertise events .

However, from now until the 4^th of July I am involved with helping the kick ass charity AnySoldier  raise money. I will accept offers and will posting some already accepted  for a min agreed donation to the charity event.  All post proposals must be emailed to myself for acceptance and I maintain the right of first refusal. The main guidline is that your event has to support or recognize our warriors.

In order to help recognize those events I will be posting a yellow ribbon on the post signifying that they have made a donation to the cause.  This is important because it shows they are supporting troops in morethan one way.

Please help AnySoldier meet its charity goal and please email me any proposals to be added to One Marine’s View as a post. If you are motivated enough, join us and help raise money for the charity. The Harrier pilot and his wingman left their plates to learn more.

Indeed, an Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle had gone down near the city of Benghazi, and the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, aboard the amphibious assault ship, was going to launch the rescue mission.

General: USMC not giving women infantry jobs

Initially reported that the USMC was allowing females to participate in the infantry billets, the below article paints a little different story.  Interesting enough, look at this poll about females in the infantry.

What better way to celebrate the holiday in July but to know you made a difference for our warriors?  There are 971 great Americans signed up on AnySoldier that support our warriors. Imagine if they each gave $50. That’s  a “cheap” night out at the movies and would automatically put us at our goal.  Call me “old fashion” but I think America could use a little Old Fashion about now and so could those that support your warriors. US will be in Afghanistan long after the 2014 "pullout"

 

US, Afghanistan reach partnership deal

April 23, 2012

 The US and Afghanistan have reached a deal on a long-delayed strategic partnership agreement that assures the Afghan people their key American ally will not abandon the country militarily or financially for years after 2014, the deadline for most foreign forces to withdraw.

 

US forces have already started pulling out of Afghanistan and the majority of combat troops are scheduled to depart by the end of 2014. But the US is expected to maintain a large presence in the country for years after, including special forces, military trainers and government assistance programs.

ANZAC DAY - Australia - Lest We Forget

 Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, originally commemorated by both countries on 25 April every year to honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in the Ottoman Empire during World War I. It now more broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for their countries.^[1][2] Anzac Day is also observed in the Cook Islands, Niue, Pitcairn, and Tonga. It is no longer observed as a national holiday in Papua New Guinea and Samoa.

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters Slams the Liberal Media

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters joins Megyn Kelly on FOX News to discuss the publication of photos of U.S. soldiers posing with the bodies of suicide bombers. Peters: My take on this is that there's a terrible scandal here Megyn, but it has nothing to do with our troops in combat. Those troops escaped a suicide bomber, bad judgment, took some dumb pictures, and no terrorists were harmed in the taking of those snapshots.
